Extremities MRI scanners: exquisite, fast and comfortable imaging

The ONI MSK Extreme® 1.5T/ Optima MR430s is a high-field, open MR system delivering the most powerful gradients commercially available. This enabling technology produces high-quality images of cartilage and soft tissue of the extremities, fast scan times, and robust pulse sequences.
The system utilizes a unique spectrometer, proprietary software, six transmit/receive RF coils (80mm, 100mm, 123mm, 145mm, 160mm, 180mm) and sweet spot imaging which provide excellent SNR and exquisite image quality.
The ONI MSK Extreme® 1.5T/ Optima MR430s can offer patients a comfortable, non-claustrophobic experience due to the open, quiet design.
From image quality to patient comfort the ONI MSK Extreme® 1.5T/ Optima MR430s delivers. It is a powerful solution to perform premium musculoskeletal imaging.

The ONI MSK Extreme® 1.5T/ Optima MR430s delivers a combination that radiologists have always wanted: a specialty musculoskeletal MR system with a 1.5T magnet. Now they can request precise acquisitions of the arm, including elbow, wrist and hand; or the leg, including knee, ankle and foot—and get the image quality and consistency they expect from a more powerful, conventional MR system.
  • Industry-leading gradients deliver 70mT/m of power and 300T/m/s of slew rate.
  • Short echo spacing and high signal-to-noise ratio enable high resolution and sharp images.
  • The system’s design ensures that the targeted anatomy is precisely positioned at the magnet’s isocenter, and coil proximity increases signal-to-noise ratio for high clarity—even in small anatomies. In addition, the proximity of a coil adapted to the targeted anatomy increases signal-to-noise ratio with rich clinical information.
  • A footprint as small as 222 square feet (20.65 square meters) allows for easy siting and lower installation costs, while the lightweight < 900 lb (408 kg) magnet fits through most elevators and standard doors.
  • Six iso-centric dedicated RF coils (ranging from 80 mm to 180 mm in inner diameter) can accommodate a wide range of patient sizes, from smaller patients to larger athletes and anatomies.

The ONI MSK Extreme® 1.5T/ Optima MR430s offers an extremely surprising experience.
  • Extremely compact, surprisingly powerful. While the Optima MR430s is small and efficient, its 1.5T magnet provides radiologists with the high-quality images they demand.
  • Extremely comfortable, surprisingly clear. With its innovative design, the Optima MR430s offers an improved MR experience for patients and a more efficient and simpler one for technologists—all with the consistency and clarity of a 1.5T system.
  • Extremely valuable, surprisingly affordable. As an addition to a busy radiology department, the Optima MR430s can relieve patient backlogs to boost department throughput—offering healthcare providers a smart investment at a low total cost-of-ownership.

ONI MSK extreme 1.5 Tesla extremity scanner: fast and high resolution T1 FSE imaging of the knee offering extreme diagnostic capabilitities, with scan times and SNR same as at 3 Tesla but with better contrast due to the specialized coils and field homogeneity. Sagittal imaging: 416x352, 3mm slice thickness, 1.52 scan time, 24 slices. Axial imaging 352x320, 24 slices, 1.31 scan time.

ONI MSK extreme 1.5 Tesla extremity scanner: very high resolution rapid anatomical imaging in axial plane of the wrist in T1, T2 and STIR contrast. Spatial resolution less than 0.3 mm^3, slice thickness 2 mm, scanning time for all four sequences less than 6 minutes.

ONI MSK extreme 1.5 Tesla extremity scanner: very high resolution rapid anatomical imaging in all planes of the fingers in T1 FS and STIR contrast. Spatial resolution less than 0.3 mm^3, slice thickness 1.5 mm, scanning time for all three sequences less than 4 minutes.

Very high resolution of the elbow (slice thickness 2 - 3 mm, voxel size ranging from 150 μm to 500 μm) based on STIR FSE, T1 FSE, T2 FSE and contrast enhanced T1 FSE. Imaging time in most cases is less than 20 minutes offering comfortable scanning for this otherwise challenging orthopedic application.

Very high resolution of the fingers (slice thickness 1.5mm, voxel size ranging from 300μm to 625 μm) based on STIR FSE, T1 FS FSE, T2 FSE and contrast enhanced T1 and T1 FS. Imaging time in most cases is less than 30 minutes offering exceptional diagnostic results and securing clinical reliability.

ONI MSK extreme 1.5 Tesla extremity scanner: very high resolution rapid anatomical imaging in axial plane of the wrist in a case of inflammatory involvement in SAPHO disease based on a fast imaging protocol with in T1, T2 and STIR contrast. Spatial resolution less than 0.3 mm^3, slice thickness 1.6-2.2 mm, scanning time for all 10 sequences (3 after GD contrast administration) 20 minutes. (384x352 for axial imaging, 100-110 mm FOV, 416x384, 140mm FOV for coronal view).
